Equity in Athletics
The Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended by the Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008 (HEOA), requires institutions of higher education that participate in federal financial aid programs (e.g., federal loan programs, Pell grants, Federal Work-Study) to make available to enrolled and prospective students and the public its Equity in Athletics Annual Report. The report contains information about Carnegie Mellon’s intercollegiate athletics program, including data regarding sport sponsorship, student-athlete participation, and program revenues and expenses.
This information is available each November 1 at the U.S. Department of Education’s website http://ope.ed.gov/athletics/#/ To view the data, please select “Get data for one institution” (usually located on the left side of the page), enter “Carnegie Mellon University” in the “Name” field, and select the “Continue” button at the bottom of the page.
